Sport and recreation activities supported through Island Community Fund
Island Community Fund
Agriculture and Forestry Minister George Webster and Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development Minister Ron MacKinley announced funding for community projects in Prince County.

The Province of Prince Edward Island, through the Island Community Fund, is helping to support sport and recreation activities in the O’Leary and Alberton areas.

Three community projects in Central Kings are receiving a combined investment of $74,000 through the Island Community Fund. The contributions will boost economic development, increase public safety and support recreational opportunities for the residents of Central Kings.

Capital Budget builds on investments in projects Island-wide
Capital Budget
The 2015-2016 Capital Budget was delivered by Hon. Wes Sheridan, Minister of Finance, Energy and Municipal Affairs and Chair of Treasury Board on November 19, 2014.

Health care facilities, schools, roads and bridges, and the province’s information technology systems will benefit from $74.5 million in the 2015-16 Capital Budget.

Government adds 10 medications to Provincial Pharmacare

Some Islanders joined Minister Currie at the Legislature for the announcement that government will be adding new medications to help Islanders battle disease.

Government is enhancing drug programs by adding 10 new drugs - or new indications for existing drugs - to help Islanders battle disease. The $1.1 million investment will help lessen the financial burden for some Islanders in need of treatment and compassion.
