Archaeology
The Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat is responsible for all archaeology conducted within the Province of Prince Edward Island. Responsibilities include: archaeological site management and protection, archaeological permitting, review of land use applications, development of policy and procedures, maintaining a register of existing sites, consultation with groups having archaeological interests, and education.Acts and Regulations
Standards and guidelines for archaeology are currently being developed.
Forms
All sites recorded by a permit holder must be documented on a Maritime Archaeological Resource Inventory Form. Please print the completed form and submit along with other supporting documents i.e. notes, plans, etc.
