The Malpeque Bay Archaeological Project
In partnership with the Mi'kmaq Confederacy of PEI, and under the direction of the Provincial Archaeologist, Dr. Helen Kristmanson, the Province has maintained an ongoing archaeological research project in Malpeque Bay. To date, this community oriented project has involved extensive site reconnaissance as well as preliminary test excavations at a pre-contact site at George's Island as well as an Acadian site near Low Point.
