ACASE Conference 2010
A Climate of Change: Science, Technology, and Sustainability
The Prince Edward Island Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in conjunction with ACASE/AEESA and the PEI Sustainability Network (PEISN) are proud to host the 2010 ACASE Conference under the theme “Education for Sustainable Development” (ESD). The goals of the conference are to promote ESD and to provide teachers with learning and teaching opportunities related to ESD.
The 2010 ACASE conference comes at a crucial midway point in UNESCO’s Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (DESD). The purpose of the 2005-2014 DESD is to “integrate the principles, values, and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning, in order to address the social, economic, cultural, and environmental problems we face in the 21st century.”
ACASE, the PEISN, and the PEI Department of Education and Early Childhood Development invite all science educators to attend the conference from July 7 to July 9 at UPEI to participate in formal presentations, field trips, and interactive workshops centered around education for sustainable development and sustainability in general. If you are an educator who would like to learn more about ESD and how to make it a part of your teaching to build a sustainable future, then ACASE 2010 is for you.
