All PEI strawberry growers are invited to attend an initial meeting of the proposed PEI Strawberry Growers' Association (TBI). An interim board has been appointed to conduct preliminary work on forming a provincial association for PEI strawberry growers. This meeting will provide background information on the reasoning behind forming an association. The Interim Board will present a draft set of by-laws for adoption. An election of a formal board of directors will take place during this meeting. All are welcome.

Women’s Institutes on Prince Edward Island are celebrating 100 years of existence on PEI with a Gala Evening.

Special Guests include Lieutenant Governor, Honourable Frank Lewis; Honourable Robert Ghiz; Honourable George Webster; President of the Federated Women’s Institutes of Canada, Marie Kenny; Betty Millar representing the Past-Presidents of PEIWI; and Doreen Cole President, PEIWI. Guest Speaker will be Honourable Marion Reid, former Lieutenant Governor and WI member of the century old Branch of Sterling WI from Stanley Bridge.

The evening will feature a Walk Down Memory Lane through the decades in fashions and images depicting clothing of the period and the accomplishments made by the Women’s Institute. The Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening will be Jennifer Evans, Manager of Radio Stations Ocean 100.3 and Hot 105.5.
