Euonymus Caterpillar
Description:
- larvae - 20mm fully grown
- feed in colonies
- envelope foliage in silken web
- adult - moth’s forewings have black spots on a white background
- wingspread 24mm
What it attacks:
- Euonymus trees including burning bush
Damage:
- defoliation
Prevention/Control:
- dormant oil
- some forms of B.t.
- pheromone trap (attracts insect & traps it in a sticky substance, insect dies in trap)
- safers soap
