French Language Services Act

The Government of PEI currently has a French Language Services Act which was partially proclaimed in 2000. There are eleven sections and six subsections of this Act currently in effect. This Act is available in English only.

During the spring 2013 sitting of the Legislative Assembly, government introduced a new French Language Services Act (2013) which received Royal Assent on May 8, 2013 The current Act will be repealed and replaced by the new one once it is proclaimed. Proclamation of the new Act is expected in the fall of 2013.
