The 811 telehealth service is now available. The service is free, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in English and French, as well as 120 other languages.
Premier Robert Ghiz has tabled the new French Languages Services Act for first reading in the Legislative Assembly. The new Act will allow for better alignment of government services to meet community needs.
A new, single licence plate design on all registered Prince Edward Island vehicles will improve safety by ensuring all vehicles are equipped with a fully reflective plate that’s easily identifiable by law enforcement.
A new, bilingual Highway Safety Division has been launched. The new site promotes awareness of safe driving practices and includes information on driver education, licensing, motor vehicle registration and inspections.
On September 4 and 5, Premier Ghiz attended the 2013 Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie (MCCF) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The MCCF will be held in PEI in 2014.
