Laboratory Services
Dairy Lab ServicesThis service provides full analytical services to dairy producers. Farmers are able to access analysis results on-line at www.gov.pe.ca/go/dairylab. Results are password protected and are provided at no charge to producers.
Testing is carried out on raw milk and finished products to ensure compliance with the regulations under the Dairy Industry Act.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Maps
This service provides custom digital and hardcopy GIS products from the resource data layers available within the Department.
Assistance is provided in interpretation and analysis of data such as land cover mapping, GPS (global positioning system) referencing, slope mapping, etc. It is planned to have geographic data available to internet users through www.peilandonline.com.

Plant Disease Diagnostic Program
Diagnostic services are available to assist farmers with identifying and controlling diseases. Service is available annually May-October.
Samples may be submitted directly to the Plant Diagnostic Laboratory located at the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, Aquaculture and Forestry building in Kensington, or through the Access PEI offices.

Soil, Feed and Water Chemistry Testing Laboratory
The soil and feed laboratory is a modern, accredited testing facility providing the most up-to- date and accurate analysis.
The lab specializes in testing soil, feed, plant tissue, greenhouse media, seed germination, manure and compost analysis.

Water Quality Analysis
The water quality laboratory is a modern, accredited testing facility which tests for both inorganic chemistry and bacteria in water samples.
Bottles can be picked up and dropped off at any Access PEI site. Each Access site has specific days for water sample collection.
