Agriculture Information Centres
Agriculture Information Centres, located in each of the 5 district offices, provide clients with a first point-of-contact for information on commercial agriculture.
The staff are experienced in handling producer inquires - from providing recommendations to simple production problems to ensuring that the clients inquires, regarding complex agricultural issues, are addressed.
The department winter hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and summer hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. are not necessarily convenient at all times for producers. Therefore requests for information and forms, after the normal working hours, can be directed to an answering machine via the toll free number, 1-866-PEI-FARM (734-3276). The next working morning the information officers respond to the request.
The 6-member staff also assists with training programs organized at a district and provincial level.
The web-based information continues to grow in popularity with producers and is continueously updated by this working group.
