J. Elliot Lumsden was born at Murray Harbour on October 8, 1869 to parents Mary Jordan and James Lumsden. Elliot Lumsden was a fox rancher, cranberry farmer and photographer. Elliot and his wife, Sarah Ellen (Sadie) Jordan had two daughters, Lucy and Minnie May. Lumsden died on March 19, 1936.
