Welcome to the official website of the Consumer Services Section of the Office of the Attorney General. The Section provides protection to the public through licensing and regulation of certain individuals, businesses and non-profit enterprises. We also provide consumers with information and guidance so that they can make informed decisions.

Gift Card Legislation

The Office of the Attorney General is currently inviting the public to comment on proposed gift card legislation. If you would like to view the discussion paper click on the link Discussion Paper. Comments must be received in writing by January 31, 2010.

Payday Loans Act Regulations

The Office of the Attorney General is currently inviting the public to comment on proposed regulations for the Payday Loans Act. The Payday Loans Act received Royal Assent on May 15, 2009.
