Diversity refers to all of the characteristics that make individuals different from each other -- age, ethnicity, gender, language, having a disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, parental status, marital status, thinking styles and more. The diversity of Prince Edward Island's population is greater than ever before with an increasing immigrant population as well as a growing aboriginal community. At the same time, persons with disabilities are under-represented in the workforce.

The Public Service Commission is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive public service that recognizes, appreciates, respects and accommodates diversity of all individuals.
