Intergovernmental Affairs
Intergovernmental Affairs staff works to ensure that the province's interests are represented in national and regional policy discussions. This involves:
- developing and coordinating strategies and policy positions;
- coordinating and/or preparing briefing materials required for meetings such as First Ministers Meetings, Annual Premiers Conferences, Council of Atlantic Premiers, New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers;
- advancing and promoting the Province's interests in regional discussions, initiatives and agreements;
- developing and implementing the Action Plan for Atlantic Regional Cooperation and New England Governors-Eastern Canadian Premiers resolutions;
- undertaking research, strategic planning and policy development activities as required; and
- providing policy support to the province's representative on the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Council on Social Policy Renewal.
