Communications PEI
WHAT WE DO
Communications PEI is responsible for strengthening Government's business messaging by providing departments, crown corporations and agencies with a range of communication services.

Intergovernmental Affairs
WHAT WE DO
Intergovernmental Affairs staff works to ensure that the province's interests are represented in national and regional policy discussions. This involves:
  • developing and coordinating strategies and policy positions;
  • coordinating and/or preparing briefing materials required for meetings such as First Ministers Meetings, Annual Premiers Conferences, Council of Atlantic Premiers, New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers;
  • advancing and promoting the Province's interests in regional discussions, initiatives and agreements;
  • developing and implementing the Action Plan for Atlantic Regional Cooperation and New England Governors-Eastern Canadian Premiers resolutions;
  • undertaking research, strategic planning and policy development activities as required; and
  • providing policy support to the province's representative on the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Council on Social Policy Renewal.

Provincial Protocol Office
WHAT WE DO
The Prince Edward Island Protocol Office provides a variety of services to the Provincial Government as well as the community at large, as follows:
  • plans, coordinates and conducts visit programs for dignitaries and senior international officials coming to Prince Edward Island;
  • provides planning advice and assistance, coordinates and may participate in government ceremonial events;
  • maintains and advises on the Table of Precedence for Prince Edward Island;
  • provides information and counsel to Government, community organizations, the private sector and individuals about matters of protocol and precedence for certain occasions or special events.
