  • The Girls Volleyball team is traveling to East Wiltshire today. Please meet at break in the cafeteria to arrange drives.
  • Boys Volleyball game today after school at home.
  • Girls & Boys AA soccer teams play today:
    • Boys travel to Stonepark.
    • Girls play at home, 3:45.
  • Girls A soccer practice today, 3:00 – 4:00.
  • Girls A Volleyball practice today after school, 3:00 – 4:00.
  • Congratulations to all golfers who particpated in Birchwood’s Golf Team tryouts yesterday. The following golfers will compete at Country View Golf course on Friday at 1:00 in the Eastern Zone meet. Top two teams and top 10 individuals will move on to provincials. Please meet in room 224 today at 10:45.

  • Cross Country practice today after school.

  • Future Goals program meets today after school in rm 311 from 3:00 – 4:30.
  • Outdoor Adventure Club meeting today at lunch in room 225. All members of the Thursday group must attend if they are interested in apple picking on Thursday.

  • Our Student Nurses, Julie & Kristen, will be hosting Zen Zone every Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday starting today in the Art room. This is a friendly, quiet space where students can come to eat their lunch, relax, and draw and paint, if they prefer not to eat in the cafeteria.

Band:

  • Grade 8/9 band will meet every Tuesday & Friday morning at 7:45.
  • Grade 7 band meets at noon on Wednesdays.
  • New skills for all band students are now listed on the white board in the band room.

Miscellaneous:

  • Congratulations to Mrs. Walsh’s class 7-6 for raising $320 for the Terry Fox run. They are the winning class and will receive a pizza party. The school raised over $1800 for Terry Fox!

Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 – Day 1

  • Boys Volleyball Practice today 3:00 – 5:00.
  • Girls & Boys AA soccer practice today, 3:00 – 4:30.
  • Girls A soccer practice tomorrow, 3:00 – 4:00.
  • The golf team trials will be on today at 3:30 at Belvedere Golf course. Cost for each player is $10. This is a 9 hole competition with the top 4 boys and top 4 girls making the team. A quick meeting tdoay at break, 10:45 to verify participants.
  • Cross Country practice today after school.

Clubs:

  • Yearbook committee, today at 12:10 in Mr. Vaive’s room 224.
  • The Library is looking for Library Monitors. If you are interested please take a permission form from the Library at lunch time today and return it to Mrs. Gairns.
  • Our Library will be open Monday – Friday at lunch and also after school till 3:45, Monday – Thursday.

  • Quick golf team meeting today in gym at 10:45. A 9 hole School tryout will be on Monday starting at 3:30 at Belvedere Golf Club. Only 4 boys and 4 girls will be chosen. Best 4 scores make the team.

  • Congrats to the Girls’ field hockey team on the first ever Birchwood field hockey game! The girls’ came up a bit short to Stonepark. They play again today at 3:35 in Cornwall.
  • Huge win for our AA girls’ soccer against East Wiltshire yesterday. Emily MacInnis led the way with 2 goals and Miara Weeks chipped in with 1. Goal keeper Kate MacDonald made several key saves to secure the win. Practice today 3:00 – 4:30.
  • Boys soccer lost their first game of the season.
  • Girls A soccer won 4-1 over Stonepark. Avery Neale and Abby Chapman each scored 2 goals.
  • Boys Volleyball today – No practice today. First game on Thursday at QC.
  • Girls Volleyball today – 3:00. First game on Thursday.
  • Cross Country practice today, 3:00.
