August, 2014 – Welcome back to school! I hope students, families, and employees had an enjoyable summer and are eagerly looking forward to the 2014-2015 school year.
We are excited to open Souris Regional School this September, with full construction and renovation of the building to be completed this winter. The facility will provide modern, first-rate accommodations to support the delivery of student programs and will be the English Language School Board’s first K-12 school.
This year the school district will continue the implementation of the board’s strategic plan to increase student academic achievement. Our long-term mission is to improve post-graduation options of our graduates by enhancing their academic profiles. The Strategic Plan for Student Achievement 2013 – 2017 covers the first of two strategic planning periods to achieve this goal. I invite you to become familiar with the board’s vision and strategic priorities.
We endeavour to do our best to meet the needs of every student. Building partnerships with our schools, families, and communities is vital to a successful learning environment and I therefore encourage parents and guardians to become involved in your child’s education. We are here to work together.
I hope everyone has a successful school year!
