On the Friday, April 7th PD day, teachers worked in teams on our School Goals (reading, writing, and numeracy) here at the school.
The K-3 team worked on their reading goal; they spent the day reviewing current plans, reviewing a new professional resource, updating data collection profiles, and making plans to continue looking at the development of writing about reading across the primary grades.
The 4-6 team continued to work on math, spending the day creating bins with activities to target specific foundational outcomes for each grade.
The 7-9 team reviewed expectations for convention use and sentence structure in intermediate writing and charted grade level progression for sentence structure. They spent the rest of the day working on problem solving strategies and worked out a pilot project to target these skills with some students
