Human Resources provides services to the department in the administration of staffing, classification, personnel, payroll, collective agreements, professional development and human resource policies.
This division provides administrative and financial support services to the department and the school system. The division manages and provides support and advice in the area of teacher pensions. The division is responsible for budget development and control, accounting, purchasing, provision of texts and materials through the learning materials distribution center, managing the school construction and capital repair program, and processing payroll for the school system.
This division provides policy and funding advice to ensure Island learners have high-quality, cost-effective, post-secondary learning opportunities and to ensure an accountable and sustainable higher education system. The division administers students' financial assistance programs, as well as legislation to ensure quality training and consistent standards through the apprenticeship programs and private training schools sections. The division ensures a continuum of learning opportunities is accessible to adult Islanders through the Literacy Secretariat.
