English Curriculum
WHAT WE DO
The English Programs Division is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and support in the development of quality English language curriculum, as well as support services and resources for teachers and students from kindergarten to grade twelve.

French Curriculum
WHAT WE DO
This division develops quality programming while providing up-to-date resources to accompany these school programs in French for students in French first language, French immersion and core French programs. Special education services and technology programming for French programs is also included in this division.

Early Childhood Development
WHAT WE DO
This division provides policy, program and funding advice and direction to ensure Island children and families have high quality experiences in the early years. Responsible for the early learning and child care system of PEI, this division provides curriculum and program development and support to the Early Years Centers, supports Family Resource Centers and private regulated early childhood programs, provides Early Years Autism services, administers the direct funding program, special needs funding program, autism funding program, the Best Start program, and is responsible for Healthy Child Development. As well, this division has responsibility for the Child Care Facilities Act, R.S.P.E.I. 1988, Cap. C-5, including the certification of early childhood educators, licensing and inspections of early childhood programs and provides resource support to the Child Care Facilities Board.

Instructional Development and Achievement
WHAT WE DO
The Instructional section of the team is implementing new Language Arts and Mathematics Curriculum in collaboration with the Language Arts and Mathematics Curriculum Specialists. It is also developing and contributing to a virtual professional learning library for Island educators and responds to Provincial Common Assessment Results. The Achievement section provides leadership, guidance and support to the department and educational partners in the areas of student assessment. This section leads teachers in the development and administration of the Provincial Common Assessment Program while administering national and international student assessment programs and activities.
