Child Care Licensing and Certification

The PEI Child Care Facilities board is responsible for licensing and license renewal of child care and early childhood programs.

There are two types of facilities based on the type of services and programs offered with slight variations in the requirements for each. The decision as to whether a facility is licensed as a Type I or II facility is the responsibility of the PEI Child Care Facilities Board.

The board also monitors and investigates complaints.
