Bridges Program

The Bridges resource team provides support to licensed Early Learning and Childcare Centres. The team works with early years supervisors using a strength-based approach to develop action plans for positive curriculum results.

Supervisors participate in evaluations of their centres with an early childhood coach. Together, they identify areas needing support and then work cooperatively to make improvements for children.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development provides support to supervisors and staff of Early Years Centres in curriculum development and documentation.

Staff of the Bridges resource team, also known as early childhood coaches, are responsible to:
  • support supervisors, administrators and owners of early childhood development centres to enhance learning environments and provide training and mentoring;
  • encourage increased quality in early learning programs;
  • enhance the level of integration of children with special needs; and
  • encourage a community of learning within the early childhood sector.
