Employment Standards Board
The purpose of the Employment Standards Board is to provide an independent forum for the fair adjudication of employment rights and obligations as outlined in the Employment Standards Act.
The primary role of the Employment Standards Board is to, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, exercise the powers conferred on it by the Act, including
• adjudicate appeals of employers / employees regarding orders issued by the Chief Labour Standards Officer; and
• annually review the Minimum Wage Order and recommend accordingly to the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
The board shall consist of not less than six persons equally representative of employees and employers respectively, and one additional person who shall be chairperson. There may also be appointed one or more vice-chairpersons.

Dependant on the position sought.
Mediation and tribunal skills.
Statutory Nomination Requirements
The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint all members.
Traditional Nomination Requirements
Chair - $200/diem and Members - $142/diem.
Anticipated Time Commitments
Regular meetings set by Chair.
Members of the board shall be appointed for a term not to exceed three years and are eligible for re-appointment.
