Burning Permit
The Air Quality and Hazardous Materials Section of the Department of Environment, Labour and Justice does not issue burning permits and, in fact, discourages the practice of open burning and backyard burning.
The Department of Agriculture and Forestry may issue permits for land clearing purposes and can be contacted at 368-6730. Information can also be found on the Forests, Fish and Wildlife website.
In some cases your local fire department, in conjunction with the PEI Fire Marshall's Office, may issue a permit for a controlled burn.
