Selling Domestic Class Pesticides
In PEI, domestic class pesticides are separated into two groups:
Self Select Domestic Pesticides
These pesticicdes require no dilution or mixing prior to use. Typically, they are sold in a volume or weight of less that one litre or one kilogram, respectively. Self-select domestic pesticides can be openly displayed at any vendor outlet.

No training is needed to sell a self select domestic pesticide.
Controlled Purchase Domestic Pesticides
These pesticides may need to be diluted or mixed before use, they may require special handling, or they may be sold in larger container sizes. Controlled purchase domestic pesticides cannot be openly displayed at vendor outlets. They must be kept behind the sales counter or inside a locked cabinet.
To sell a controlled purchase domestic pesticide, a company must hold a Domestic Pesticide Vendor Business License. Sales staff who sell, or provide advice regarding the use of, a controlled purchase domestic pesticide must hold a Domestic Pesticide Vendor Certificate.

Selling Commercial Class Pesticides
To sell a commercial class pesticide, a company must hold a Non-domestic Pesticide Vendor Business License. Sales staff who sell, or provide advice regarding the use of, a commercial class pesticide must hold a Non-domestic Pesticide Vendor Certificate.
