Pesticide Use and Regulation

Pesticide use continues to be of concern to Island residents, visitors, and government.  New regulations, based on recommendations from the PEI Environmental Advisory Council were introduced in 2006 to protect both human health and the environment.  PEI farmers, homeowners, lawn-care professionals, golf course managers, and product vendors now operate under one of Canada’s most comprehensive pieces of pesticide legislation.

If you have a question related to the sale or use of a pesticide, please contact the Pesticide Regulatory Program at (902) 368-5599.

If you have a complaint or concern regarding the use of a pesticide, please contact the Pesticide Regulatory Line at 1 800 454-3231.
