Excavation Pit Permit

Why do I need an Excavation Pit Permit?

Before opening or operating an excavation put you must apply for, and possess, a valid excavation pit permit. There are set-back restrictions on where an excavation pit can be located.

How do I obtain an Excavation Permit Permit?

You must complete an application and forward it, together with the applicable fee, to the department.

What is the fee?

$100 is the application for an Excavation Pit Permit.   HST is not required.

Make cheques payable to the Minister of Finance, Energy and Municipal Affairs.

How long will it take to obtain an Excavation Pit Permit?

Please allow up to 4 weeks to process your request.
