Enforcement
The Investigation and Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcing provincial legislation. Conservation Officers regularly patrol PEI’s highways, seashores, farmlands, and wild places in an effort to preserve and protect PEI’s natural environment. Each Officer is a professional—trained to police standards and educated in environmental management.
In addition to six full-time Conservation Officers, there are also two seasonal Conservation Officers and two seasonal Pesticide Inspectors.
A summary of enforcement activity from 2010 to 2012 is available. A map showing the distribution of enforcement activity in 2012 is also provided.
