Commercial Well Approval
A Groundwater Exploration Permit is required for a commercial well if it is intended to be pumped at a rate of more than 50 imperial gallons per minute, or if it is intended to supply a central water supply system.
The Department of Environment, Labour and Justice issues the permits to the business, although in many instances, the well driller can make application to the Department on behalf of the business.
Businesses may contact the Environment Division of the Department of Environment, Labour and Justice for additional information.
