Most people know that ‘water equals life’. From a tiny insect to a tall tree, all living things need water to survive.

Some people like to think that PEI is different from other places. We are a small, rural province. We don’t have big cities and heavy industry. Our water must be in good condition. Right? The truth is—we do have threats to our groundwater and surface waters. We cannot take these resources for granted. We need to protect them both for ourselves and for future generations.

An important first step toward taking care of our water is learning more about it. We need to better understand our water resources, and the issues we face when trying to protect and improve them.
