Most people know that ‘water equals life’. From a tiny insect to a tall tree, all living things need water to survive.

Some people like to think that PEI is different from other places. We are a small, rural province. We don’t have big cities and heavy industry. Our water must be in good condition. In fact, we do have threats to our groundwater and surface waters. We cannot take these resources for granted. We need to protect them both for ourselves and for future generations.

An important first step is learning more about our water resources. To do this we need to examine the issues we face, and the steps we need to take, when trying to protect and improve water.
