Rural Development

The mandate of the Rural Development Division is to provide quality advice, assistance and information to rural clients and develop new approaches to community development and delivery of employment programs.

The Rural Development Division is responsible for:

          ♦ Coordinating implementation of the 40 action items outlined in the Rural Action Plan

          ♦ Ensuring effectiveness of the Employment Development Agency and Seasonal Hiring Centre

         ♦ Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the Island Community Fund
