Jobs for Youth Program - Private Sector
The Private Sector Component of the Jobs For Youth Program is designed to create additional employment for Island students by assisting private sector businesses with a wage subsidy to hire additional employees. The program is 100% funded by the Government of Prince Edward Island and administered by the Employment Development Agency.
Students hired to fill positions of approved projects must be registered with the Employment Development Agency Jobs Registry.
Employer Application Deadline: April 26, 2013
Who may apply?
Projects employ students aged 16 to 29 for periods ranging from eight to twelve weeks. Project activities can be varied but must provide meaning work experience or assist in the school-to-work transition. New or existing businesses on Prince Edward Island may apply.
