The Statistical Services Unit within the Policy Sector at DFO headquarters is responsible for the national statistics system of the Department as well as all statistics and survey operations required by the Sector. Information on fisheries-related activities collected through departmental administrative procedures, from surveys, from other government departments and from international fisheries agencies is maintained by the Unit.
