The primary role of the Alternative Financing and Evaluation Section is to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and viability of services provided to the general public by the Provincial Government. The purpose is to review capital investment projects to determine whether the investment in capital can be done through an alternative method of delivery besides traditional procurement, including the public-private partnerships. Determining screening criteria, participants, market reviews, hiring consultants, reviewing matrixes and value for money audits. The section will also provide research, evaluation and recommendations regarding projects and changes in programs.
