The recent increase in fuel oil costs has led many Islanders to reconsider firewood for their homes. Properly seasoned fire wood can give good value for money, and can help to improve the quality of the forest if it is harvested in an environmentally responsible fashion. This document is meant to be a general guide to several key factors Islanders should consider when buying and using wood to heat their home.
