Forest Tour
The Forests, Fish and Wildlife Division, in cooperation with different partners, offers workshops, presentations and field trips related to forest management, hunting, trapping, forest ecology, wildlife habitat, angling and many other subjects.

As information on new courses and workshops becomes available, it will be posted here. Interested groups and organizations that wish to promote events on this web site can send a request to the Information Officer, Forests, Fish and Wildlife Division. These events and workshops must support the goals and policies of the division and of the Government of Prince Edward Island.

Intergenerational Transfer of Woodlots Seminar: Thursday  - September 17, 2015

The PEI Woodlot Owners Association (PEIWOA) is offering a special workshop for property owners to help them understand some basic financial concepts related to owning, harvesting and managing woodlands on PEI and the implications of transfering woodlands to your heirs.

Legal and Financial specialists will discuss a variety of woodland topics including:

  • How in woodlot income is taxed
  • Differences in income from a farm operation vs a woodlot
  • Tranfering woodland between generations
  • Information on buying and selling woodlands
The workshop will be held at the Farm Centre on University Ave in Charlottetown from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. there is no charge for PEIWOA members and there will be a nominal fee for non members.
