Hunter Safety and Education
Everyone hunting in Prince Edward Island is required to be in possession of a Firearm Safety Certificate. All persons wishing to acquire a PEI hunting license are required to exhibit a Firearm Safety Certificate to the license vendor. Vendors are prohibited from issuing a license to any person who does not possess a certificate.
Non-residents are reminded that Prince Edward Island recognizes all provincial and state hunter/firearms safety courses as long as that course meets the International Hunter Education Standards.

HunterCourse.com also offers additional on-line courses and information on other hunting-related topics specifically tailored to Prince Edward Island's hunting community and an interactive rifle range simulation.

Education Programs
The Forests, Fish and Wildlife Division is mandated to provide hunter education programs, as follows:
- Canadian Firearms Safety course has two seperate components, the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC).
- Online Hunter Safety course must be successfully completed by all students in order to obtain a Field Day Voucher. This voucher enables a student to participate in a field day. Please call (902) 368-4683 to confirm your attendance in the field day. At the field day, students receive extra training and the instructor confirms the student's knowledge of the online course materials. Upon completion, the student will receive an updated Prince Edward Island Wildlife Card.
