Introduction to Frogwatch

WELCOME TO FROGWATCH PEI! By participating in this program you will help to increase our knowledge of frogs and toads in Prince Edward Island. Frogs and toads are a part of local biodiversity - the amazing variety of life around us. Conserving biodiversity is essential to the health of the planet and the welfare of humankind. Frogs and toads also have a special role to play in keeping the environment healthy. Perhaps because they live "on the edge" between water and land, frogs and toads are very sensitive to pollution and other environmental changes.
By listening to frog and toad mating calls, naturalists, schools, and community members can record and submit observations that are important in monitoring the health of Prince Edward Island's wetlands.

Report Observations

To contribute your information over the web or by telephone, you must first register as a Prince Edward Island Frogwatch Observer, using the link below. Your registration provides the provincial co-ordinator with your contact information and allows us to send you Prince Edward Island Frogwatch updates and our yearly Prince Edward Island Frogwatch Newsletter.
Once you've registered, you can use the Frogwatch Interactive Map to report your observations.
