Buy PEI Initiative

The Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce two programs under the Buy PEI Initiative --- the Agri-Food Market Development Program and the Agri-Food Promotion Program. These are exciting new programs aimed at increasing awareness, demand and consumption of Prince Edward Island agri-food products.
The Agri-Food Market Development Program is directed at farmers, farmers’ markets, farm markets, and agricultural commodity boards who are interested in increasing the purchase of locally grown or produced Island agri-food products for sale to local/regional purchasers. Funding will be available to assist with the following: - signage
- promotion
- training
- new product development

The Agri-Food Promotion Program is available to assist groups, institutions and municipalities that are interested in undertaking a project that will increase the visibility and knowledge of locally grown agriculture products and the individuals that produce them. Please share this information with groups within your communities and others that you think may be interested.
