The Office of Environmental Health is part of the Department of Health and Wellness and a Division of the Chief Public Health Office. Environmental Health provides the delivery of various programs and services under the PEI Public Health Act and Regulations, the PEI Tobacco Sales and Access Act and Regulations, and the Smoke-free Places Act and Regulations.

Our main focus is the promotion and protection of the health and safety of Islanders and visitors through education, enforcement of regulations, and inspections of public and private services and facilities.

For food poisoning investigation or restaurant inspection information on Environmental Health, please contact (902) 368.4970.

Environmental Health offers 24 hour service. For after hour emergencies, please contact (902) 368.4970.

Recent changes to the PEI Public Health Act Regulations make it easier for Islanders to contribute low-risk foods as part of non-commercial activities.
