Reducing tobacco use amongst Islanders
Research data suggests that more than $3 million in health care costs have been saved over the last five years through reduced hospital admissions for heart attacks.

Fewer Islander are being hospitalized as a result of reduced tobacco use and tools like the Smoke Free Place Act, according to a new scientific study.

The daffodil has been the Canadian Cancer Society's symbol of hope and courage for more than 50 years. Wear a daffodil pin throughout the month in support of those who have battled cancer and those who are in treatment or living with cancer.

Island children benefit from Active Start programming
President of Sport PEI, Ron Waite and Minister of Health and Wellness, Doug Currie joined children at Headstart Early Learning Centre participating in Active Start physical activity programming.

The Active Start program is designed for children ages 3 to 6 and consists of an instruction manual of 100 lesson plans, training and equipment for delivery partners to teach core Fundamental Movement Skills in a fun, play environment.
