Physical Activity

There are many opportunities to add more physical activity to your day and by doing so you will enjoy the many benefits of being physically active including more energy, stronger muscles and bones, and reduced stress.

There are many locations for fun, safe and accessible physical activity for all ages on Prince Edward Island.  The best part of it is that many of them are just outside your door and is available at no cost.  Streets and trails are great places for walking, running or bicycling, grassed areas or open fields can be used for a number of recreational sports or activities and many communities have parks and indoor facilities available for use.

The tip sheets below explain the current physical activity guidelines for different age groups and identifies ways to assist you in meeting the recommended amounts.
