Swimming Pools and Waterslides

Environmental Health is responsible for monitoring all public/semi-public swimming pools, whirlpools/spas, and public water parks and enforcing all Regulations under the Act.

The goals are to prevent the spread of communicable disease and to ensure the availability of emergency aid equipment.

The tools used to help with these goals include:

Plan review and approval
On-site inspections
Water quality assessment
Complaint investigations

Application Form:
The Swimming Pool and Waterslide Regulations require that “No person shall operate a pool without an operating permit...” (Section 4(1)). Operating permits are not transferrable and are only valid for one year.
