Environmental Health Program

The basic goal of this program is to protect the public health of all Islanders and visitors. Legislative authority for this program falls under the Public Health Act.
Activities under this program are complaint/enquiry generated and can involve such wide-ranging activities as:
- sewage
- garbage
- rodents
- bio-terrorism or other current issue which may impact on the health of the public (emergency measures)
- tattoo parlours/body piercing
Involvement in these cases is often in cooperation with the Department of Environment, Justice and Labour.
