Salvage Vehicle Inspection Program
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Make sure the car you plan to purchase hasn't been through a disaster. Visit the Insurance Bureau of Canada to verify if your vehicle has been flood damaged.The Salvage Vehicle Inspection Program came into effect on May 1, 2013. The program is based on Section 234.1 of the Highway Traffic Act.
What is a salvage vehicle?
"Salvage vehicle" means any vehicle which is damaged by collision, fire, accident, trespass or other occurrence to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle for legal operation on the highway exceeds its fair market value immediately prior to damage.
