Motor Vehicle Impoundment

Your motor vehicle may be impounded if you are convicted of certain motor vehicle offences(s).  If your vehicle is impounded, all costs and charges for the care or storage of the vehicle are considered a lien on the vehicle. 

If your motor vehicle is impounded, you will be notified by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles.  You may apply to the Registrar for a review within 30 days of becoming aware of the impoundment.  You must file an application and pay the Registrar any applicable fees.  Please note, the filing of an application for review does not stay the impoundment of the vehicle.
