Volunteer Firefighter Motor Vehicle Registration and Driver's License

Free registration is granted to any volunteer firefighter who continues to be registered as an active member of a fire department.

A firefighter may obtain a free first-time registration for 6-17 months when registering a new vehicle or a free vehicle registration renewal annually.

The plate may be replaced free one time only within each year. The old plate must be returned.

The free vehicle registration is to be used on the vehicle which the fire fighter operates. If no vehicle is registered to the fire fighter, the free registration plate may be used by a member of the fire fighter's immediate family or the fire fighter's business provided the fire fighter operates the business.

An original Identification Letter for Private Vehicle Registration (from the volunteer fire department) must be signed by the provincial fire marshal and presented at any Access PEI location before the free registration is issued.
