Strategic Initiatives and Properties


WHAT WE DO


The Strategic Initiatives and Properties Division is responsible for all assets held by Prince Edward Island Business Development including all properties, Atlantic Technology Centre, Food Technology Centre, business parks, and corporate offices at 94 Euston Street. Environmental Industrial Services Inc., (EISI)a water and wastewater utility is also managed by the Division. The Strategic Initiatives and Properties Division also provides various technical services to the Department of Innovation and Advanced Learning.

Prospecting and Innovation Programs


WHAT WE DO


The Prospecting and Innovation Programs Division is responsible for attracting out of province business investment to Prince Edward Island. The current priority sectors for investment recruitment are Aerospace, Bioscience, Food Processing, Information Technoloy Manufacturing, and Financial Services.

Prince Edward Island is committed to the Technologies of Life and is excited about the growth of the BioScience industry and the many opportunities that exist for partnerships. The BioScience divisions works cooperatively with all local agencies to offer customized bioscience business research and development programs.

Business Development


WHAT WE DO


Business Development is responsible for the coordination and delivery of information and assistance to business in Prince Edward Island. Specifically, the group works to assist in business start up, promotes expansion and diversification of business and management development to support the long term viability of Prince Edward Island companies.

Innovation PEI is responsible for the identification and pursuit of trade and export opportunities for Prince Edward Island business. This group works with Island businesses, the federal government, and other stakeholders, to optimize those opportunities to the benefit of all Islanders.

Lending and Immigration Services


WHAT WE DO


Through its Lending and Immigration Services Division advances the availability of financial and human resources to Island businesses so as to maximize wealth creation and economic development opportunities for the Province.

The Lending Services group sources, manages and supplies financial capital in support of sound, strategic business opportunities while balancing financial risk with the economic return to the Province. As a developmental lender, the group works collaboratively with traditional financial institutions and other government agencies in a non-formula approach using a wide array of financial instruments.

The Immigration Services group is responsible to implement and manage programs to attract and retain immigrants who will contribute to the economy and culture of Prince Edward Island. In particular, the group is responsible for the operation of the Prince Edward Island Nominee Program and international recruitment of skilled workers and entrepreneurs.
