INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MOLLLUSCAN SHELLFISH SAFETY
12 - 18 of JUNE 2011
Welcome to Prince Edward Island (PEI), host of the 8th International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety. Cradled on the waves of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, PEI is known for the vivid colours of its gently rolling landscape, miles of sandy beaches and red sandstone cliffs. Prince Edward Island has become renowned for its famous red soil, a pinnacle niche of natural beauty on Canada’s smallest and greenest province!
Charlottetown, the capital City of Prince Edward Island, is often considered the birthplace of confederation after the historic Charlottetown Conference in 1864, which eventually paved the way to the Confederation of Canada. As you enjoy a historic stroll through downtown Charlottetown, you will be invigorated by the historical charm of the city and compliant warmth of each friendly PEI resident. Charlottetown is home to an eclectic mix of island wide walking trails, harbour side boardwalks, world class golf courses and fine cuisine, that feature famed Island seafood and agricultural products.
The conference organizing committee is delighted to offer conference delegates reduced accommodation rates, while you enjoy your stay on Prince Edward Island and participate in the conference. Delegates will be provided a variety of room and location options, but be sure to make your reservations early to secure your room and rate. When making your reservation, indicate that you are a participant of the International Conference on Molluscan Shellfish Safety (ICMSS 2011), in order to receive the conference rates.
