Process

Complete the Self-Assessment Form (PEI-PNP-01).

If you achieve 50 or more points on the self-assessment, we encourage you to continue, with the process of applying as an Immigrant Partner under the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program.

All applications submitted to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program office must follow the standard format and be complete. If the applicant is using an Agent, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office must authorize the Agent.

Agent Authorization

Immigration Agents who are representing an applicant to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program must be:

Member in good standing of the Canadian Society for Immigration Consultants (CSIC)
Lawyers who are members in good standing of a Canadian law society and students-at-law under their supervision
Notaries who are members in good standing of the Chambre des notaries du Québec and students-in-law under their supervision.
All Immigration Agents must register and be approved by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office prior to submission of application.

Immigration Agents must register with the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office by completing the Agent Profile (PEI-PNP-09) and the Agent Code of conduct Agreement (PEI PNP-10). Sign, date and send the original forms to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office at:

Investment Intermediary

All Immigrant Partner applications are required to use the services of a recognized Investment Intermediary who must be identified before the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office will process the application.

Immigrant Partner Criteria Summary

Have a minimum net worth of $400,000.00 Canadian dollars
Use an Investment Intermediary approved by the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program
Make a $200,000.00 Canadian dollars investment by way of preferred shares in an eligible Prince Edward Island company
Become a director or senior management employee in the investee company (see “Immigrant as director or senior manager” under Investment Promotion and Matchmaking)
Make a Good Faith Deposit of $25,000.00 Canadian dollars to be held by the Province of Prince Edward Island, to be returned on evidence of one year's residency in Prince Edward Island.
Ideal applicant is between the ages of 21 and 49 and no older than 55
Have a minimum 12 years of education (high school)
Have at least five years of management or business ownership experience in a sector with relevance to the Prince Edward Island economy.
Have Language skills capable of being interviewed in English or French and if not must be prepared to make a Language Deposit of $20,000.00 Canadian dollars, held by the Province of Prince Edward Island to be returned on evidence of one year’s residency and a moderate level of proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and listening in English and/or French has been reached.

Application Fee

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Immigrant Partner processing fee is $2,500.00 Canadian dollars. This fee is made payable to Island Investment Development Inc. in the form of a certified cheque, money order or bank draft.

If the file is declined prior to interview stage, $2,000.00 of the $2,500.00 processing fee will be returned to the principal applicant. Once an invitation to an interview letter is issued for a principal applicant the $2,500.00 processing fee becomes non refundable.

All applications received must be complete, with all forms, supporting documentation and processing fee included. Incomplete file applications will be returned.

Unless otherwise specified, our office requires clear and legible copies of all applicable supporting documentation.

All applications are required to be organized, tabbed and submitted in a standard order.

Application Submission

To submit an application please mail, courier or hand deliver the complete package to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Office.

Applications will not be accepted by facsimile or email. All applications received must be complete, with all forms, supporting documentation and processing fee included. Incomplete file applications will not be returned.
